About

Gretchen is an emerging writer living in State College, Pennsylvania with her husband and three children. She is currently revising her first historical novel, tentatively titled Silent are the Gallows, set in 17th century Plymouth Colony and based on the tragic life of her ninth great-grandmother. She is also writing a second historical novel, which involves forbidden love, dangerous voyages across the Atlantic Ocean, familial abandonment, newly discovered friendships, and pirates!

She has a B.A. in International Relations and French from Bucknell University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Penn State University, where she was an instructor for several years. Her published research focused on nationalism and international conflict. She does her best creative thinking while walking her rescue dog, Pete.
